TGIF

Funny how things work out. I've been sick with a cold this whole week. Runny nose, watery eyes, you know, sick.

Sexy Time

Not completely miserable because it could always be worse but today, when I woke up, the leaky faucet had stopped and I'm able to wear eyeliner without it running down my cheeks. I guess my Body simply knew, Its Friday!!!

So, I say to you all, Have a Lovely weekend.

Must clear out my To-Do list, pack for Dallas( I'm going, going back to Dallas, Dallas), Brunch with friends, dance, go to a movie, and try to get some sleep in between.

Anything fun or special on your agenda?

Hiatus

There's a real good reason for my absence. And that is because I've been in a New York State of Mind. That's right, I was taking a bite out of the Big Apple and boy, was it delicious. From Broadway Musicals, Food, good Drinks, Music, Museums, flea markets, sight seeing, it was all such a great experience. I've been to NY twice before and every time I make it out to there, its always different.

I had an amazing time with the most amazing people in my life. Traveling is such a personal thing. It does so much for me. It makes me more well rounded, it teaches me alot, it makes me even more independent, and definitely appreciative. Enjoy a lit bit of New York. Stay tuned for a link with more photos.

New Beginnings

Chanel is the ultimate epitome of classy.  I recall spraying my Aunt's Chanel No. 5 when ever she wasn't looking because aside from smelling good, I wanted to feel grown up and sophisticated myself. Its taken a while for me to warm up to the brand for their cosmetics mainly because I've had MAC tunnel  vision for so long but as I'm getting lets say, more sophisticated, for the sake of calling myself old, I've been venturing out to new avenues. So, what you see below are the the following: Double  Perfection Natural Matte Powder Makeup, Poudre Universelle Compacte, Rouge Coco Shine Lipshine in Boy and Flirt.

First impressions: The Double Perfection Makeup which is like a foundation that dries to powder applied very smoothly. My color, Rich Beige blended in so well with my skin tone that it looks like I'm not wearing anything at all. I chose to try this because I wanted to see if there was something comparable to my MAC Studio Fix that I could switch to for the sake of trying something else.

The pressed powder works well to touch up throughout the day. It does a great job at absorbing the oils you produce throughout the day and it completely matifies your face.

The lipsticks are moisturizing, easy to apply and feel really good on the lips. Boy is definitely a cult favorite and a Flirt is a gorgeous color especially for Spring and Summer.

Overall, I'm very pleased with my first Chanel make up purchases. Like anything new, I have to continue to use the product to develop a true love or dislike for it. So far, thumbs up. Next on my list to buy are the Illusion D'Ombre eyeshadows.

Milani Illuminating Face Powders

Milani is a brand that I'm going to have to say, most people sleep on. Heck, I wasn't hip to it until they released their most ridiculously sought after Teddy Nailpolish in 2010 I believe. I've kept my eye on this brand since then. They make one of my favorite eyeliners, Milani Liquif' eye  Pencil in black and other stunning fun colors. When I read about these powders I knew I had to check them out and I'm so glad I did. I found mine at CVS.

L to R: Hermosa Rose, Amber Nectar

These multi purpose powders are gorgeous. They are a blush, bronzer, and highlighter all in one. They give my MAC highlighters a run for their money. You get so much product in each that I feel I can highlight my entire face every day to make it look like a disco ball and I still would never go through all this product.

These face powders give you such a beautiful natural glow. They apply effortlessly and look great with any blush you may be wearing, if you decide to wear a separate blush. These will definitely become favorites of mine. I suggest picking one up for yourself.
