Ray's

Since I'll be exposing my little eyes to lots of harmful UV rays next week, I considered being good to them and protecting them. I don't wear sunglasses for the simple fact that I have a hard time seeing as it is with my -3.0 near sight vision. Wearing shades just darkens my vision even more and them I'm really in trouble. I know they make prescription lenses for sunglasses so I inquired about them. I picked out a pair but because my prescription would require thicker lenses than the ones ideal for the frames I picked out, Aviator Raybans, they have to send them off to get the prescription put in at Rayban's Lab instead of having them done by my Optometrist's in house lab in an hour. Its going to take about 2 weeks.

So, as a back up,  I picked these out. Raybans as well. Considering I don't wear shades myself, its weird that I know exactly what I would like to wear in the event that I do end up buying a pair or two. Something about Raybans screams classic. They bring fond memories to my sister and I. My brother's Dad rocked them all the time and we thought he looked so cool. I want to look cool too.

Loving my New T-Shirt

It fits me perfectly, and I don't mean the size of it. I love my culture.

Yummy Creatures

Last Friday night, I embraced the cold and rainy weather. I bundled up and went out for dinner to Mi Piace in Pasadena. I tried Escargo for the first time per my dinner companion's suggestion. My friend suggested I just think about these little creatures as eating mushrooms and that's exactly what I did. They came out in a dish that had 6 little pods, one for each snail. They were covered in pesto sauce, olive oil and possibly vinegar. To my surprise, I liked them. I have made a frown in the past at just the thought of eating such a thing but hanging around with people that expose me to different things has made me be a bit more open minded and appreciative. I promise you, they taste a lot better than they look.

Latest MAC Collections

MAC released three new collections last week, Reel Sexy, In Extra Dimension, and Tres Cheek. I picked up a couple of things and I wanted to share them with you. I finally bought the Turquatic perfume that I've always been curious about. I like it. Its something completely different from what I normally gravitate towards but I like trying out new things. Its hard to describe scents. Its kinds strong, musky, and powerful. Definitely spray lightly because it is a strong scent.

What really drove me to my MAC counter was these new Skin Finishes part of the In Extra Dimension collection. The formula of these things is completely different from your typical powder product. Its feels kinda wet to the touch, almost gelish like. There's three total in the collection. I opted for the champagne color since it suits my skin color the best.

The blush was another product I knew I wanted. It looks orange in the pan and it will go on orange on your skin if you pack it on, so just apply with a light hand. Orange is my color of choice for the Spring season. I will be wearing it on my cheeks, lips, nails, and clothes. It looks so good on tanned skin.

The eye shadow, called Extra Dimension eye shadow was an impulse buy. There are several in the collection. I wanted to try it because these shadows are also made with a different formula. They apply very smooth and again, have like a "gel" feel to the touch. I could of bought more of theses shadows because they're gorgeous and I actually think I will go back and check out some more.

What was really popular in The Reel Sexy collection and sold out immediately was the lipstick REEL Sexy. Its a really pretty coral shade. I wish I could of picked that up. Considering how fast these collections go, I'm just happy that I was able to get my hands on the couple of things I really wanted.

If you're near a MAC counter over the weekend, stop by and take a look at these collections.

NOTD

Nail of The Day

Was craving some glitter to brighten up my Mood and Day.

Sally Hansen's Gem Crush

Stella Dot Summer Collection

I've been spreading the word about the latest collection SD put out because its just too cute to not at least talk about it.

I am in Love with the Bangles. The Lindsay Bangle in the color Turqoise particularly reminds me so much of Tiffany's. These bangles come in 4 great colors that are totally on trend with the whole NEON and color blocking theme happening this summer. They would look great with some colored jeans, which I finally picked up a pair myself.

Honeymooning

I'm Hawaii bound in 3 weeks from today. And even though I've been to the beautiful island 3 times already, every time I visit its a different experience. I never get tired of sunshine, clear warm water, beautiful beaches, great food, and some R&R. I'm going to Maui. And although I call it the "Honeymoon Island" because you're not going to go bar hopping or clubbing, I still find interesting things to do.

On this trip, I plan on going to Haleakala National Park which is just the most amazing scenic National Park. The hard part will be waking up at 4:00a.m. to get there in time for the beautiful sunrise. The Road to Hana is a beautiful scenic 52 mile road trip that leads you through rainforests, waterfalls, pools, and seascapes. Lots of beautiful photo opportunities. I'm also going to try to brave up and attempt zip lining. I have a horrible fear of heights and I am known to get panic attacks but I hope I can get through it. Can't wait for my trip. Especially after feeling like I do from previous post. I will try to take as many pictures as I can. Cheers to traveling!

Ever Feel like this?

I woke up this morning feeling just like the picture above. Its a vicious cycle. I often dream of a sabbatical where I can just detach from everything. Technology mainly. We are so wired now a days. We're glued to a computer at work for 8 hrs if you're lucky, we're attached to our phones, guilty, we're on our FB's, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc etc... Its all a bit draining. Although I don't participate in Social Media except for this blog, if you even want to call it that with my 5 followers and all, (which I'm very grateful for), I have to say, I'm pooped.

The routine is tiring. What ever routine you have going on, its tiring. I often look at other cultures, mainly Europeans and I have to say, they have something going on over there. 2 hour siestas, I like the idea of that. They actually take their allotted time off from work and go on vacations, they close shop early on summers. They generally enjoy more of their time. I say, we do as the Europeans do. Or at least try.
