Treasure Hunt

I went Thrifting twice in the past 2 weeks. One trip was to my local Goodwill and the other was to Buffalo Exchange. If you are not familiar with this store, I suggest you check it out. The one I go to is in Sherman Oaks but I know they have other locations. I have to be in the mood to go into these kinds of shops because they really do take patience and hard work to find what I call treasures. My most recent trips were both successful that they left me wanting to come back more often. My shopping haul consists of  2 blazers, 3 pairs of shoes, a cropped top, and a pair of colored denim.

This black blazer fits really well and its very flattering. I have a love affair with blazers and I can never have too many black ones. I liked the buttons on it and the ruched sleeves. Its adds a sweet touch. The details make this blazer more casual instead of a structured blazer I'd wear for work for example. I see myself wearing it with distressed jeans, my new Leopard pumps, gold jewelry, and red lipstick.
The second blazer I picked up, well, lets just say, it needs some TLC. I have plans for this "Granny blazer". It caught my eye because of all the fun colors plus, its blue. It will pair well with a black pencil skirt for work and jeans and a yellow top for a more polished casual look. I plan on switching out the buttons to something more wearable and modern and give it a new life.
Continuing on with the colored denim trend and the crop tops, I picked up one of each. The top is so much fun. Its flowy, easy, and just right once we start warming up. The jeans fit like a glove so I had to add them to my collection.

What I'm most excited about are the shoes I picked up. They're all very different from one another and they'll all serve different purposes.
I cannot wait to wear my new Retro Sneakers. These Nikes are definitely something I've never seen before either in stores or on a person. The minute I tried these on in the store, I started dancing to some Hip Hop beats. I seriously cannot wait for the weekend so I can wear them since I don't think they're too work appropriate.

The cowboy booties are just so adorable. I remember when these shoes were very popular. I was too young to appreciate them before but now,  I see myself planning alot of outfits around them. I'd love to start wearing  them with sundresses as soon as this weather cooperates.

The Leapord pumps are a staple. I've been wanting a pair but never found the right print. These are sexy, demure, and elegant. I prefer clean lines over clunky platforms. Animal print can either look good or plain cheap. I think these look great and they were cheap.

I'll be wearing all of my items this summer and hopefully get them up on outfit of the day posts. I forget what a thrill I get from finding such beautiful gems amongst all the fluff. I want to visit Thrift stores more often and I suggest you do too.

The Beautiful Natasha

At last!!! She's ALL mine.

I mentioned this bag a while back on this blog. I knew I wanted it for many reasons. Its functionality is a major reason why I had my eyes set on it. I love the option of wearing it cross body or off my shoulder. Its so practical especially when traveling. I usually carry a huge bag with me daily that tends to wear my shoulder down and leave red marks on me. And when I travel, the bags just get bigger.

With this new bag, I can just throw it over my shoulder, pack lighter, and access what I need much easier. I love that its a classic black because it will go with everything. I love how it pairs easily with almost anything. It will make your summer outfits look well put together, casual and effortless. It also has this really cool sheek look to it. Somewhat bohemian, that look like you didn't try at all but you did and the fact that its a Marc Jacobs bag, well, let me just say again for the record, I love Marc Jacobs.

I look forward to getting alot of use out of my new bag. Its a classic staple that will remain in my collection for years to come.

MK 8077

I hope everyone had a lovely extended weekend. I ventured out to Palm Springs for a "day cation" on Memorial Day. I enjoyed some yummy Mexican Food followed by coconut mojitos, which I didn't even know existed. Marylin was even catching some sun out in the dessert. She was quite the attraction as everyone lined up to get a perfect picture under her dress.

As is customary, I try to budget some time to stop by the Dessert Hills Premium Outlets when ever I head out that way. You can really find some great deals. I powered shop since I got to the outlets an hour and a half before closing time. I hate shopping in a rush but I also know what I want (most of the time) so I tackled head on the stores I knew I wanted to check out. Upon arriving at Michael Kors, I hit the jackpot. I've been eyeing this watch for a while now. I knew I liked it, wanted it, but didn't know how it would wear on my tiny wrists. Disclaimer: This watch is huge! It may not appear so in these pictures but it takes up my entire little arm, hence my hesitation in purchasing it. The sales associate told me that this watch is Unisex, therefore, although its big, its intended to be that way so both male and females can wear it. I tried it on immediately, thought about it once, and before I could say Yes fast enough, my AMX had been swiped and my new MK 8077 was coming home with me.

I love my watch. I couldn't resist it so I put it on immediately after leaving the store. I was wearing two watches yesterday, fell asleep with it and its on my wrist today. I may just never take it off.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

Leave it to Revlon to come out with yet another lip product that will soon be flying off the shelves. I'm excited to share with you these Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains.

Revlon has become my favorite Drugstore brand for new innovative products. Remember the Lip Butters? I'm still collecting them. These new chubby sticks are the latest trend in lip color. They're a lip stain and a conditioning balm as well. They apply very smoothly and feel great on your lips. They have a minty scent which I like and their staying power is average for lip stains, around 3 to 4 hours. They're very convenient since all you have to do to get more product is twist the bottom. Throw one of these in your purse and you're set to go.

I chose these two shades because I'm loving coral at the moment and you can never go wrong with a neutral. Rendezvous is nicely pigmented. It gives a nice wash of color to brighten up your lips. Charm is like a pinky/peach shade. On my lips, it applied a bit streaky. I had to apply several coats of it and I think it would look best with a gloss on top. You'll have to work with this one a bit more but the color is beautiful.

I found mine at Rite Aid. I've been told they've been spotted at CVS's and Target. You may want to pick one up your self.

Comfort Shoes

Keeping with the Chanel theme that I've been drawn to lately (cosmetics at least), I thought I'd share with you these lovely shoes I purchased. I actually bought these flats a couple of months ago. When I saw them at Macy's, I was immediately drawn to them for their classic and elegant look. The color scheme of these shoes, the two tone, creme and black compliment each other so well. They are such staples colors which makes these shoes easy to pair up with anything. Original Chanel flats will set you back several hundred dollars. These were a steal at a fraction of the price.

Shoes: Bandolino
These are the perfect dual purpose flats. I wore these shoes three times in one week when I got them. That says alot. I have walked miles in these without a single blister. Now that impresses me. They work really well with black slacks for the office and with jeans on the weekend. I see myself wearing them year round. They make a great alternative to high heels. I found some similar styles at Nordstroms for you.

Face of the Day

Lets get Naked!

When ever I need a neutral look whether I'm feeling minimalist that day or I know I need to keep my bright pink lipstick at home because I might have a meeting at work, I rely on my trusty Naked Palette. Urban Decay really has stepped up their game. Naked 1 definitely put them on the map and revived their image in the cosmetics industry. They made their come back known and by launching Naked 2, they're telling us they're here to stay. They have done both palettes amazingly well that by now, I'm certain almost every girl out there has one of each and a back up. They're both my go to's for most of my eye wear.

Today, I went for a simple look to compliment the neutral outfit I'm wearing. I applied YDK all over the lid, used Tease in the crease, blended both out together and used Fox under neath my eyebrow. Two coats of mascara, never skip the black liner, and the eyes are done.

Mascara: Dior Show
Eyeliner: Revlon Luxurious Color Smoky Crayon
Blush: Benefit Hervana
Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Short Cake

Neons

Spring Lovin: I can't get enough of all the bright shades nail companies have come out with for Spring/Summer. If you are not bold or comfortable wearing Neon clothing, this is a good way to introduce some color into your life. Its also a way to explore with color without committing too much. If you don't like it, just remove it.

This Sally Hansen Pacific Blue has been my favorite polish for this month. I've put it on my nails twice already and for me to repeat a nail color in the same month is unheard of. Its such a unique blue.  Its bright, a bit neon but definitely a wearable neon. It definitely draws attention to your hands. I've gotten many compliments when wearing this shade. You will too.

These are my top Spring Neon Shades I've been liking this Spring so far. All of these shades look amazing on your toes but also on your hands. I like wearing every shade in the rainbow so no color is too bright for me. Enjoy experimenting.

L to R: Ole Caliente, Lights, Bazooka, Mojito Madness, Action, Flip Flop Fantasy, Shocking Pink

Have a Little bit of Faith

I've worn crosses in gold, silver and now side ways. This is my latest addition to my cross jewelry collection. I love how delicate and simple it is. It is a statement piece in a very subtle way.

God bless accessories. I love wearing this necklace because it reminds me that there is a "higher being" looking after me and protecting me in this crazy world we live in. Whether you are religious or spiritual, a little bit of both, or neither, its nice to wear a special piece of jewelry that evokes a good feeling in you, and that's what this cross does for me.

What Looks like Crazy on an Ordinary Day

It was a unanimous decision. We all loved this Book and we definitely recommend it to everyone. Oprah picks some good reads for her book club so it was no surprise to us that we all loved it so much. Celina was gracious enough to host book club at her cozy home last night. We had a great time. The wine kept flowing, the conversations were all over the place, we tend to get off subject at times, but overall, we always enjoy each other's company. I'm looking forward to our next meet.

Take a Look at the Bright Side

This is definitely the brightest outfit I've ever worn. That being said, I loved the colored denim trend as soon as I spotted it and I knew I wanted to participate in it. My pants are a mustard yellow. A bit more subdued than a bright "Big Bird" yellow. The blazer I just happened to stumble upon. The color is such a breath of fresh air. Its the perfect outfit to start a great weekend. I've got some catching up to do with friends. Hope you all have a great weekend as well.

Hair Rx

I've been searching high and low for some hair therapy. I've posted previously about my struggles with dry and ugly hair. When the whole Keratin wave hit stores, it didn't take long for me to join the curious bunch. I've had a Keratin Treatment and I've tried  various Keratin products. Most recently, I tried out the Keratin line by Organix. Prior to trying these products, I was using the Morrocon Oil line by the same brand. Its the products in the Teal Blue bottles. I liked it enough to keep trying their other lines.

Considering that everyone's hair is different in texture, I can only speak for myself. I noticed a difference in how much softer my hair is with this shampoo and conditioner combo. The shampoo doesn't lather as much as other brands, but that's what makes your hair prone to more damage. The lather in shampoo contains so many chemicals that dry your hair out. So, if you're like me and feel that your hair is not getting clean without the suds, let me tell you, its not true.

Currently, I'm using the shampoo, conditioner, and I apply the Oil to treat my dry hair. I will be getting a haircut in about 3 weeks. There is no other remedy for dry and split ends other than cutting them. I'm undecided how much to take off. I wanted to grow my hair out long but there is nothing uglier than damaged long scraggly hair. So, A cutting we will go.

In order for my hair to look half decent, I must style it to camouflage its ugliness. I've been wearing it in waves lately.
